Castrol Actevo. Seems to work well, but the only filter i can find are cheap NAPA ones. I need to look harder. Do they make K&N oil filters for a 93 FZR?

Actually the Napa Wix filters are good filters as long as you don't buy the silver line. I use the Napa gold line on my bike most of the time.

Here is the info on the K&N Filter you asked about 1997 YAMAHA FZR600R 600 - All Motorcycle / Powersports Oil Filter part # KN-303

You also forgot to add Motul, I use the Ester based full syn, 10/30, although since I'm going summer only I'll probably switch to 20/40 as per the manual.

I run Rotella 20w-40 (Shell). Works great and fairly cheap. If you go Synth., and have OEM cork paper clutch discs and old disc plates, watch out for clutch slip on hard acceleration.

Yeah they do. "KN303". Mobil1 makes some good filters as well part #'s (M1-108) or (M1-110) should be for a Mazda miata.

And like Hunter said DO NOT USE Penzoil, it is too thick and is just shit in a bottle. I wouldn't trust that oil in a go kart.

Oil threads are hideous. One day when I get really old I'll have the maturity not to respond. yucky.gif Oil selection is nearly purely emotional.

It's too thick is not correct. Probably safe to discard the Penzoil information. Viscosity is important and you should use what the owner's manual recommends.

Has anyone ever noticed why there isn't a definitive test showing one motor oil as better than another? There is a reason.

Use what makes you feel good just change it often.

No offense intended or implied.

If you have ever opened up a motor that used penzoil, you would know what we are talking about. Penzoil uses a wax base and it gums up your motor. thumbdown.gif
